Looking at those numbers, the best option would be the MTP-48/H6 with the highest CCA and best warranty, but to top all that off it was also the perfect fit with the venting to work perfectly without another vent kit.īoth the MTP-91 and the MTP-48 requires their vent kit which is free but not as neat as the MTP-48/H6. MTP-48/H6, 770 CCA, 30mo full replacement, 85mo prorated.
MTP-48, 560 CCA, 18mo full replacement, 72mo prorated. MTP-91, 700 CCA, 30mo full replacement, 85mo prorated. So I looked back at the Interstate batteries and the authorized dealer I found actually had 3 that fits. Especially since I only have a small 350w amp driving a JL 6W0. Then I looked at the optima batteries which a 75/35 or 35 size would fit with some modifications but couldn't justify the $200 or higher price depending on a red top or yellow top battery. I've had good experience with Sears DieHard so I found out they make one that fits perfectly including the vent location for $139.99 +tax with 615 CCA, 36mo full replacement and 85mo prorated. I also don't like buying from the stealership if I don't have to so I didn't even check on the price. Since my car isn't starting and it's a daily driver, I needed a battery I can just go buy.Ī BMW OE battery (white one that came with the car) with 650 CCA requiring no modifications was definitely a choice but my take on factory batteries is that they're not the best and it's just something they put in the car to sell it when it was brand new.
Here was the options excluding batteries that I would have to wait for shipping. But I still like to shop around to see what's out there. Looking at the decal on the battery, it indicates that the battery was installed in 2004 which meant it lasted 7 years! I'm pretty satisfied with that.
MTP 48 H6 UPDATE
So here's an update on batteries, I've had an Insterstate MTP-91 battery in my car when I bought it and it finally went this past week.
